The star has given the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound Mercury Prize cash to the MVT, which works to protect the UK's small music venues.
He was given the prize on 16 October as his third album the album was declared the best record of the last 12 months.
He has chosen to hand the money over to the trust, in acknowledgment of the vital role grassroots venues had in his beginning days.
"As an artist would not have achieved what I am doing today if it weren't for all the performances I played around the region, and beyond, when I was just getting going," remarked the artist. "These venues are legendary, but they are facing challenges."
Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these venues have shut down – roughly 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, top acts including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the MVT in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which goes to help independent venues.
Fender also joined in, generating more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support 38 local spots across Britain.
These funds helped spaces that were facing potential shutdown due to difficulties stemming from flooding, blazes and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and sound issues.
Some locations were granted financial assistance in improving amenities and technical equipment that positively impacted musicians and concertgoers.
"The notion that revenue from concerts in large arenas helps the independent spots, where it begins for musicians like me, is just common sense," Fender has said.
The musician is not the first artist to give his award winnings to charitable organizations.
In they earned the award in the year 1996 for their release their work, lead singer Cocker announced that the band would donate their prize money to the organization the charity.
In 2002, musician Ms Dynamite shared her prize between several charities, including the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"Additionally, I donated a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics class, because I did gymnastics when I was younger and they required updated gear," she told outlets.
Two years ago, the band contributed their funds to the youth organization that supported their group, alongside other grassroots music organisations.
Also 1994 winners M People donated their prize to a MS organization after a acquaintance was diagnosed the illness.
"The victory was ample," stated artist the singer. "The cash was the bonus but we could do without the extra, because we had the cake. So our victory touched somebody else's life."
Recently, the MVT shared it had saved a couple of local spots in the South East, by transferring them to local control.
One venue in that area and the second in that location were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is supported by Arts Council England and supporters who purchase "stakes" in the properties.
